Chekhov Acting Technique

Not be confused with PLAYWRIGHT Anton Chekhov! This Technique is one of the most viable alternatives to “The Method”. Selections from plays & poetry are utilized to train the actor to approach the text from a physical & emotional point of view.

Vigorous exercises develop the fundamental skills of trusting one’s instincts, applying the use of objectives, working moment to moment, & the ability to authentically listen. Each student’s individuality, spontaneity, & theatricality is enhanced & tested through scene work.

Movement Styles

A comprehensive examination in the historical background & development of drama. Students work on scenes (including an Introduction to Shakespeare) providing them with an eclectic opportunity to expand their repertoire.
